On Wednesday, February 13th, P.S. ARTS was proud to partner with Tommy Hilfiger to celebrate the opening of their new flagship on Robertson Boulevard.  While the party was phenomenal (more on that below!) what we are most excited about is that party also served as a kick-off of our newly cemented relationship with the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation.

Over the past 6 months we have learned that as a brand, Tommy Hilfiger believes education and health are the cornerstones for today’s diverse youth population around the world. Their goal is to be a major force in attaining a better quality of education for children globally and develop long-term partnerships with non-profits to help empower America’s youth. P.S. ARTS is thrilled to now be one of those nonprofit partners.

With the support of Tommy Hilfiger, P.S. ARTS is able to develop a unique arts education curriculum in two local schools: Walgrove Elementary School and Grand View Elementary School.  The goal of these programs is to help students with special needs achieve their full potential alongside their typically developing peers. The funding we receive from the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation will provide ongoing training on inclusive education strategies for staff at both elementary schools, and cover Teaching Artist salaries and adaptive supplies and specialized technology at Walgrove Elementary. This support will touch the lives of close to 1,000 students each year and with an initial 3-year commitment, the possibilities for this partnership are almost endless.

But back to the party… with a spectacular performance by Alicia Keys and guests including long-time P.S. ARTS supporters Jessica Capshaw, Darren Criss, Kristin Davis, and Adam Scott and new friends including Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Munn, and Kanye West… well, let’s just say it was a very special evening.  Thank you to our Board of Trustees and all of our friends (new and old) who came out to celebrate the new Tommy Hilfiger flagship and our exhilarating new partnership. We feel confident that this will be only the first of many celebrations of our collaborations with Tommy Hilfiger.
