We are glad to introduce P.S. ARTS’ new Digital Content Manager, Jessica. Learn more about Jessica and what she’s reading and listening to through the interview below.

Briefly introduce yourself and explain your position at P.S. ARTS.

I’m Jessica Pettengill, and I am the P.S. ARTS Digital Content Manager. I have a background in journalism and digital media and am a born-and-raised California girl. My role at P.S. ARTS is producing anything and everything related to digital media, including social media, video projects, and any new and inventive digital projects we can come up with.

What book is currently on your nightstand?

I’m a big book multi-tasker, so I always have multiple half-read books on my nightstand. I love non-fiction and sci-fi. Right now I am reading Little Weirds by Jenny Slate, Feminist Theory by bell hooks, and am just starting the Foundations series by Isaac Asimov.

What is currently the most played song you’ve been listening to?

I love indie and bluesy music (although I’m also a fangirl of pop singers with big voices). My most played song of 2021 was “Strangers” by Charlotte Day Wilson (a close second was “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X).

Where is your favorite place to view or take part in art in Los Angeles?

I have a soft spot in my heart for The Huntington because I used to work there. They have amazing artworks (I’ve recently loved Kehinde Wiley’s A Portrait of a Young Gentleman), but in addition to their art galleries, I love sitting in their beautiful gardens and reading or drawing. It’s a lovely place to find your own inspiration.

What famous person, either dead or alive, would you choose to take out for coffee?

I think Simone de Beauvoir would be fascinating to talk to, but my childhood self would definitely choose meeting Daniel Radcliffe if given first dibs.
