On Friday, January 31, 2025, P.S. ARTS Programs staff and 70 Teaching Artists gathered for Winter Professional Development (PD) day—a time to reconnect, reflect, and reinvigorate our commitment to arts education in public schools. The day began with a grounding session, setting the tone for a day of connection and learning. A highlight was a guest artist workshop with Infinite Flow, featured Anchorwork artist for P.S. ARTS, promoting inclusivity through dance. The dancers for the workshop were Infinite Flow Founder, CEO and Artistic Director Marisa Hamamota and Founding Company Member, Mia Shaikewitz. Lunch provided a space for community building before program updates and a presentation on framing our work within the current political climate, emphasizing resilience and through the arts.

The afternoon featured concurrent sessions tailored to professional growth, allowing participants to dive deeper into key topics. The day concluded with reflection circles and an opportunity to reflect on new insights gained throughout the day. Overall, Winter PD 2025 was a powerful reminder of the strength of our P.S. ARTS community and our dedication to advancing equity through arts education.
