May is a busy month for P.S. ARTS in terms of events! Two of our three signature fundraising events, The Opening Night Party for Los Angeles Modernism and Bag Lunch, happened within three weeks of each other (whew!). Our Opening Night Party took place at Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport and welcomed over 60 different modern art dealers in addition to our P.S. ARTS supporters. All attendees were amazed at the diversity and splendor of art on display. Our Bag Lunch was at the lovely home of Shanna Brooks and offered 200 handbags for auction. All guests enjoyed this afternoon of fun fashion finds.

Aside from working with our fantastic sponsors and guests, planning and executing all of the details is my favorite aspect of event planning. Some of my favorite parts from the two events:

The Patron Photo Booth! Patron set up a fun photo booth complete with props to ensure all guests at the Opening Night Party got to go home with a memento from the evening.  Here is a shot of the ladies of the P.S. ARTS office!

Jon Layne of The Goodie Bag helped us create our P.S. ARTS booth at the Opening Night Party.  This community art project allowed guests to leave their own mark on the event. The eye wall gave guests the opportunity to create their own drawing that was then displayed for the remainder of the Los Angeles Modernism show that ran throughout the weekend.

Pressed Juicery greeted guests at the Bag Lunch with freshly pressed juices that included Mint Watermelon and Ginger Lemonade (yum!). The juices were a great way to start off the event on that sunny May afternoon.

After guests finished their juices and decided on their purchases, they helped themselves to our oh-so-AMAZING dessert bar.

Our May events season helped us raise almost $500,000 dollars for our in-school arts education programs. Thank you to all who attended, volunteered, donated, and sponsored! See you all next May!
