The Social Impact Summit at ELAC College brought together leaders and change-makers to explore how nonprofits can thrive and adapt to serve their communities amidst social and political shifts. Framing nonprofits as the social impact sector—essential first responders in times of crisis—the event highlighted our collective responsibility to provide shelter, education, resources, and advocacy to the communities we serve.
The sessions throughout the day included panels and talks including Ann Mei Chang’s session on The Thriving Nonprofit, where she encouraged organizations to innovate by starting small and allowing room for experimentation and adaptation.
Another standout session, Leveraging Data for Effective Storytelling, delved into the power of data to inform and inspire. Participants were encouraged to think critically about whose data is being used and how it engages communities, while exploring imaginative ways to tell stories through data visualization.
The summit also addressed forward-thinking topics like AI for Social Good, sparking ideas on how technology can enhance nonprofit impact. These discussions emphasized the need for nonprofits to embrace innovation and collaboration to sustain their missions and drive meaningful change. Thank you to the Center for Nonprofit Management for an inspiring day of convening and learning for Southern California’s Social Impact Sector!
