Lucas Esperanza

Programs Assistant

Lucas Esperanza is joining the P.S. ARTS team as Programs Assistant as a recent graduate from UC Irvine with a B.A. in Drama and a minor in Political Science. After graduating, he worked on several productions with Tony Award winning regional theaters such as La Jolla Playhouse, Tectonic Theatre Project, South Coast Repertory, and Center Theatre Group. Most recently, he was selected to be Seattle Repertory Theatre’s 2022-2023 Directing & Artistic Apprentice as part of the company’s Professional Arts Training Program. Beyond his work in the performing arts, he has dedicated his passions to social justice advocacy and has collaborated with the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties as Education Equity Co-Leader & Precinct Captain. Outside of P.S. Arts, Lucas is a writer, director, and producer for the film and stage; he is the founder 14k Projects, a production company dedicated to developing and producing film and theatre projects that explore stories of resilience from artists of underrepresented narratives. In his free time, you can find Lucas cruisin’ at the beach going shredder mode on some tasty waves!
