Meet P.S. ARTS’ new Digital Content Manager, Kevin! Find out what Kevin is listening to and learn about his interests in the interview below.
I’m Kevin Garcia (he/him), and I am so excited to be joining the P.S. ARTS team as the Digital Content Manager! In my role, I will be documenting all the incredible programs that our wonderful staff and Teaching Artists produce in and outside the classroom, and I will also be leading P.S. ARTS’ digital communications strategy.
I am a communications and marketing specialist with a passion for working in the nonprofit space, particularly in the arts and culture sector.
As a born and raised Angeleno who was very lucky to have access to a rigorous arts education during my K-12 education, I am thrilled to be part of an organization that provides such vital arts education to youth across the city.
What book is currently on your nightstand?
I’m currently reading “Until August,” the recent posthumous publication from author Gabriel García Márquez.
What song do you have on repeat right now?
I can’t get enough of the moody yet groovy sound of “Somebody Come Through” by English siblings/pop duo Wasia Project.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?
I was a classically trained violist in my youth and a few years I made the decision to pick it back up again. I forgot how much joy there is in playing music and incorporating it into my daily routine, so I’m glad to have returned to it. I’ve also been interested in exploring fiber arts for while, and I am excited to say I’ve recently begun my crochet journey.
What is your favorite place to view or take part in art in Los Angeles?
I’m a huge fan of just wandering down Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. From exhibitions at The Broad and MOCA to shows at the Ahmanson Theatre and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, there is an abundance of art to immerse yourself in.
