As the new school year begins, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve all been a part of at P.S. ARTS and to share my excitement for what lies ahead.

In these pivotal times, we are witnessing the transformative power of arts education in the lives of children. The creativity, confidence, and critical thinking that our students develop through the arts are not just skills—they are life-lines that open up new worlds of possibility. When you consider this year’s theme,“Come As You Are: The Art of Belonging”, you really start to understand how impactful and critical our work is. And in a time when many young people face unprecedented challenges, the work we do together is essential.

I’m thrilled to share that P.S. ARTS is now serving more children and communities than ever before. Our impact is expanding, and it’s all thanks to the dedication and passion that each of you brings to this work. In the past two years, our faculty has doubled in size, a testament to the growing demand for the high-quality arts education that we provide. Despite this rapid growth, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to excellence, ensuring that every lesson, every interaction, and every project upholds the standards of creativity and support that define P.S. ARTS.

To our Teaching Artists: You are the heart and soul of this organization. Your talent and dedication are what make our programs come alive. Every day, you inspire our students to see the world in new ways and to express themselves with courage and authenticity. Your work not only enriches their lives but also strengthens the fabric of our communities.

To our staff: Your behind-the-scenes efforts are the backbone of our success. Whether coordinating logistics, supporting our artists, or ensuring our programs run smoothly, your hard work often goes unseen but never unnoticed. It is because of you that we can deliver on our promise to provide top-tier arts education to every child we serve.

To our school leaders: Thank you for your partnership and trust. We know that the decision to prioritize arts education is not always easy, but you have chosen to invest in a brighter future for your students and community. Together, we are not just teaching art; we are empowering a generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders.

As we step into this new school year, let us carry forward the momentum we’ve built together. Let us continue to innovate, inspire, and uplift our students, showing them that through the arts, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our mission. I am deeply proud to be on this journey with you and excited for the transformative impact we will continue to have in the lives of so many children.
