On October 16th, The Ebell of Los Angeles became a vibrant gathering place for arts advocacy as Arts for LA held their annual State of the Arts summit. Leaders, artists, educators, and supporters – including members of the P.S. ARTS team – gathered to champion arts education, celebrate creativity, and discuss the future of arts funding and policy. The theme for the Summit was “Legacy,” “Legacy,” centered on honoring influential arts and culture leaders while prompting participants to reflect on the question, “What personal and professional impact do I want to leave behind?”
The event offered networking opportunities and engaging activities that captured the spirit of arts advocacy. Keynote speakers and panelists tackled pressing issues facing arts education today, such as AI, nonprofit funding, and legacy.
A highlight of the summit was the panel discussions featuring leaders from various sectors, who shared insights on policy, funding, and community-based solutions. Panelists stressed the importance of collaboration, community involvement, and policymaker support in building a stronger future for the arts. Breakout sessions provided a chance for attendees to explore practical strategies in greater depth. Thanks to Arts for LA for creating this essential space for the arts education and advocacy community to connect!
