On September 18, P.S. ARTS’ Advisory ARTS Council convened for its second meeting, featuring a special presentation by Ricky Abilez from Arts for LA. Ricky provided an overview of the Creative Jobs Collective Impact Initiative as well as other topics including Prop 28. The meeting also included a presentation of P.S. ARTS’ Theme and Anchorworks for the year centered around the theme of belonging, featuring artists and artworks that will be incorporated into P.S. ARTS classrooms throughout the school year. This council serves as a vital opportunity for P.S. ARTS to strengthen connections within the Los Angeles community, bringing together thought-leaders and advocates to address the pressing issues facing arts and education across the city. Through these collaborative conversations, the council aims to drive meaningful change and build a stronger, more equitable arts landscape for all.
