P.S. ARTS To Go! Zina Hall Inspired Embroidery Squares with Lucas

Zina Hall is an Oakland based artist who specializes in quilting and embroidery, and she’s most known for her fiber works memorializing African American music icons like Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross. Hall’s imaginative use of embroidery acts a way for her to immortalize figures that are important to her, from celebrities to her own friends and family. Today we’ll be making a project inspired by Hall’s embroidery art based on figures and symbols important to us in our own lives!

Materials needed:

  • Burlap square
  • Colorful yarn (or thread)
