Robert Rauschenberg was born in Texas in 1925. He went to several art schools around the world, including the Kansas City Art Institute, the Academie Julian in Paris, France, and Black Mountain College in North Carolina. He was a part of the Pop Art movement and used images from popular media for his art. He was famous for his “combines,” where he took multiple items and combined them into a sculpture or painting or collage. Today, you will be making a tape transfer collage based off of his most famous work, Retroactive I.
