About the activity:

Lee Krasner was an American artist who created paintings and collages in the Abstract Expressionist style. She was one of the few women artists with a retrospective show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, As a child, she knew she wanted to be an artist. She went to many different schools to study art and developed more than five different styles of art-making! Today, you will be making paintings inspired by Lee Krasner’s “Little Image” series, where she used thick paint to create repeated lines and patterns on her canvas.

Materials needed:

  • White cardstock
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Paper plate
  • Acrylic paint
