About the activity:

Howardena Pindell is a world renowned abstract artist born on April 14, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pindell received her B.F.A. degree in painting from Boston University’s School of Fine and Applied Arts in 1965, and her M.F.A. degree from Yale University’s School of Art and Architecture in 1967. Her work is heavily influenced by traditional African art and her belief that the arts community should be more inclusive of women and minorities. In the early 1970s, Pindell discovered the hole punch which lent itself to the creation of her unconventional paintings. Today you will be creating your own confetti style painting inspired by Pindell!
