P.S. ARTS To Go! Henri Matisse Painting with Scissors with Ms. Liliana

About the activity:

Henri Matisse was born in France in 1869. He is known for making colorful works of art using a variety of materials. His art career first started with paintings and expanded to bronze works, and later, prints. His later work was made by cutting brightly colored paper into different shapes, such as animals, leaves, flowers, and abstract shapes, and arranging them on large sheets of paper. Today, we will be using paper cut outs to create collages like Matisse.

Materials needed:

  • Scissors
  • Construction paper
