P.S. ARTS To Go! Peruvian Textiles and Anni Albers Paper Weaving with Ms. Elda

About this activity:

This project was inspired by traditional Peruvian textiles and the geometric shapes of avant-garde weaver, Anni Albers. Albers was born in Germany in 1899 and came to America where she furthered her art career. She’s well known for her textile and printmaking work and she is often credited as the artist who showed the world that textile works should be recognized as the true art form that they are. Today we will create our own weaved artwork out of colored paper!

Materials needed:

  • Paper
  • Pencil
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Markers (or crayons, watercolor, oil pastel)
