About the activity:

Ana Serrano is a first-generation Mexican-American artist from Los Angeles and is best known for creating brightly colored works that reference the built environment out of cardboard and paper. This project focuses on intergenerational storytelling, using Serrano’s collage work to help us think through lived experiences, collective and personal memory, and family narratives.

Materials needed:

  • Colored construction paper
  • Cardstock (or cardboard)
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencils
  • Tempera paint sticks
