P.S. ARTS To Go! Ana Serrano Cardboard Houses with Ms. Isabel

About the project:

Learn to create a cardboard house like the iconic series by Ana Serrano with Ms. Isabel in this P.S. ARTS To Go! step-by-step art project video! Ana Serrano is a first-generation Mexican American artist who grew up in Los Angeles. She draws inspiration for her cardboard home series from the lively front yards of houses she grew up around and neighborhoods she cherishes. To get started on a cardboard home of your own you will need thin cardboard (such as a cereal box), a straight edge (or edge of a book to make straight lines), something to draw with (pen or pencil), something to color with, scissors, and glue or tape.

Materials needed:

  • Thin cardboard
  • Oil pastels
  • Tempera or acrylic paint
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Pen
