Edlin Velasquez was born and raised in South Los Angeles. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a BA in Psychology and a BFA in Ceramics she continued to focus on her artwork in ceramics and support administratively in arts education. Currently, she is a Program Coordinator for the Classroom Studio program, working with the Lynwood Unified School District. Prior to P.S. ARTS Edlin moved to New York where she worked with the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art and artist Gabriel Garcia Roman on a project showcased at the New York Pride Parade. She is continuously inspired to support the arts, and has worked with arts nonprofits such as Inner-City Arts, Brentwood Art Center and The Unusual Suspects Theater Company. Edlin also comes with a wealth of experience in counseling and tutoring youth. She is inspired to create a safe-space for students to expand their thinking and explorations from where they are to where they are inspired to go.
