This year, P.S. ARTS is thrilled to expand our services in Lynwood USD to include all elementary school students, from TK through 6th grade!
Our partnership with Lynwood USD began in the 2016-2017 school year, when P.S. ARTS launched VIsual Arts, Music, and Theater residencies for all 2nd grade students across the 12 elementary schools. Five P.S. ARTS Teaching Artists rotated through all 12 schools.
In 2020-2021, we adapted our programming to a virtual format, producing 10 weeks of recorded virtual lessons in Visual Arts, Music, and Theater for students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 6. These lessons, developed and led by dedicated teaching artists such as Mr. Partida and Ms. Garcia, allowed us to expand our reach during a challenging time.

When in-person learning resumed in 2021-2022, we were proud to continue serving students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 6. Under this in-person new residency model, we welcomed 15 talented Theater and Visual Arts teaching artists to classrooms across the district.
Now, for the 2025-2026 school year, we are so excited to continue this expansion and bring Visual Arts and Performing Arts residencies to every elementary school student in Lynwood!
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Lynwood Unified School District for being a committed and visionary partner. Special thanks to all of the district staff, Principals, teachers, school staff, and the Arts Advocacy Team – this partnership is not possible without you!
Together, we have the freedom to imagine, and the power to create!
