Saturday, July 4, 4 pm – 9:30 pm @ Gloria Molina Grand Park: Summer Block Party
The West Coast’s Largest Free 4th of July Celebration Returns! Experience a free and vibrant celebration of music, art, and community in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. Featuring an iconic drone show, interactive art experiences, live music from acclaimed trumpet player Tatiana Tate and Afro-Latin Band L.A. Tropifunk Collective, dance performances by Kaimera, and epic D.J. sets from Anthony Valadez and Pangea Sound. Ring in the holiday weekend with a vibrant celebration of art and culture! This is a free event.
As part of their First Sundays community programming, Los Angeles museum Craft Contemporary is teaming up with LA Metro for a community-focused weaving event. Taking transit and crafting together builds stronger, more interwoven communities. Add to their weaving wall, leave a message on the wishing tree, and try your hand at weaving, with your very own loom to take home. This is an event happing offsite at: Wilshire/Fairfax Station (5300 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036). This is a free event.
LMU’s College of Communication and Fine Arts and Theatre Arts Department is delighted to present Shakespeare on the Bluff this summer! All performances are 90 minutes long, family-friendly, free to attend, and open to the public at LMU’s new outdoor performance venue, the Drollinger Family Stage, on our gorgeous campus in Los Angeles. Picnics are welcome, and doors open at 6pm.

Hamlet – prince, courtier, soldier, scholar, th’ observed of all observers – is told by the ghost of his father to avenge his foul and unnatural murder. So much darkness and mystery hides in Elsinore. O cursed spite, that ever he was born to set it right! Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy brought to the Drollinger Family Stage in their ninth season! This is a free event; registration kindly requested to help venue accommodate interest and crowd size.
Sunday, July 12, 9:30 am & 11 am @ Hollyhock House: Puppets in the Park
Bob Baker Marionette Theater & Hollyhock House present Puppets in the Park! See a performance at 9:30 AM or at 11 AM on Sunday, July 12. Presented by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and Bob Baker Marionette Theater, enjoy a 30-minute Hooray LA puppet show and stay for art activities! Bring a blanket, sing along, and make art with Bob Baker Marionette Theater!
Performances are from 9:30–10 am & 11–11:30 am (gates open at 9 am). Family art activities begin at 10–11 am & 11:30 am–12:30 pm No RSVP needed. All activities will take place outside; interior spaces will be closed for this morning event. This is a free event.
The Tiny Porch Concert Summer Music Series is an outdoor concert series held every summer at the iconic Peter Strauss Ranch Theatre in Agoura Hills. There is one show per month starting in May, on Mother’s Day. This series is a must for any music lover that appreciates quality, original live music where artists travel from all over the country to perform.
The shows not only entertain, they also educate the TPC audience about the park, and its plant and wildlife. Peter Strauss Ranch is a unique theatre with a rich history of entertaining. This is a free event; free General Admission ticket required for entry.
