P.S. ARTS was excited to join the TakePART festival which returned in-person this year on May 14 at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale. The free, family-friendly festival included hands-on art activities, a student art exhibition, and student performances. The festival is organized by the TakePART Initiative (Public-school Arts Regional Team) and their partners, who facilitate active resource sharing and collaboration to fundraise and implement dynamic arts programs across the Centinela Valley Union High School District, Lawndale Elementary School District, Lennox School District, and Hawthorne School District. TakePART is focused on providing music, theater, and visual arts programs to every K-12th-grade student in the region (approximately 20,000 in total).
P.S. ARTS hosted an art booth where visitors were invited to make their own Fish Windsocks. TakePART is a great way to connect with communities and highlight the talents of the students through their arts education programs!
